Samsung SDS announced that it hosted “RX ART (Robotics Transformation Advancing Robotics Together) 2026” in Mountain View, California, over two days from the 31st to the 1st.
The event brought together executives and robotics leaders from key Samsung affiliates to share robot application cases from industrial sites, discuss technology verification results, and explore collaboration opportunities and joint initiatives among the affiliates.
Ahead of the event, Samsung SDS worked with global physical AI companies, including Walden Robotics and RoboForce, to pre-verify robot use cases identified in collaboration with Samsung affiliates. Rather than focusing solely on technology demonstrations, the company collected AI training data based on real-world industrial challenges while assessing the feasibility of robot adoption and identifying optimal application strategies.
At the manufacturing sites of Samsung Electro-Mechanics and SEMES, Samsung SDS verified the potential to automate manual operations, including parts transportation and consumables replacement, using general-purpose robots from Walden Robotics.
For the shipbuilding and plant sites of Samsung Heavy Industries and Samsung E&A, where operations involve numerous unstructured tasks and significant exposure to external environmental conditions, the company applied RoboForce’s physical AI-based robot labour technology.
At Samsung Display’s manufacturing and equipment environment, which requires highly precise operations, Samsung SDS combined precise manipulation AI technology from robot startup G to assess the feasibility of automating complex and delicate processes.
Samsung SDS plans to advance the technologies verified during RX ART 2026 into on-site demonstrations at Samsung affiliates. The company also intends to expand the validated robot use cases to additional industrial sites.
Ahn Dae-jung, vice president in charge of Digital Factory at Samsung SDS, said, “This RX ART was a venue where Samsung affiliates with different manufacturing sites experienced technologies together and shared on-site concerns,” adding, “We will expand strategic cooperation with global physical AI robot corporations and actively support the promotion of manufacturing RX at Samsung affiliates.”
