Swiss industrial AI startup Jaipur Robotics has secured €4.3 million in seed financing as it looks to scale its computer vision and automation solutions for waste-to-energy and other industrial facilities. The funding round was jointly led by EquityPitcher Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF).
Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Manno, near Lugano, Jaipur Robotics develops computer vision and AI systems designed to improve the safety, efficiency, and automation of industrial facilities, including waste-to-energy (WtE), cement, and biomass plants.
Jaipur Robotics is initially focused on waste-to-energy facilities, where plant operators process large volumes of heterogeneous waste while managing safety risks, equipment downtime, and combustion efficiency. The company says many of the more than 3,100 waste-to-energy plants operating globally continue to rely on manual monitoring and analogue processes.
The company’s platform uses computer vision to analyse waste entering and moving through a facility, turning visual data into information that can be used to identify hazardous materials, improve waste mixing and support automated crane operations.
According to Jaipur Robotics, its system is trained on a dataset of more than 50 million labelled images from European waste-to-energy operations and analyses more than five million tonnes of waste annually. The company reports hazardous material detection accuracy of 99 per cent.
Jaipur Robotics also says deployments of its technology have reduced unplanned shutdowns by more than 80 per cent at individual plants. Its calorific-value mapping is used to support waste mixing and combustion processes, while predictive guidance can assist with crane operations.
With the fresh capital, Jaipur Robotics intends to enter additional markets and accelerate development of its technology. The company also plans to expand its solutions beyond waste-to-energy facilities to address a broader range of industrial applications.
