Weidmuller Introduces DURAmax DC UPS for Industrial Automation

Weidmuller USA, a leading provider of smart industrial connectivity and automation products and solutions headquartered in Richmond, Va., has introduced the DURAmax DC UPS, a secure and reliable 24V uninterruptible power supply designed for use across a wide range of industrial applications.

The new solution provides PLCs, sensors and other devices with a safe and uninterrupted 24V voltage supply. If a mains power failure occurs, the DURAmax DC UPS automatically switches to battery operation, helping maintain continuous system availability and preventing unplanned system downtime. With its compact design, the DURAmax family allows installation in tight control cabinets while providing robust backup power performance.

To make configuring the DURAmax devices easier, Weidmuller has developed the DURAmax DC UPS Manager software tool. The software enables users to configure the DC UPS and battery modules through a USB-C interface.

As part of Weidmuller’s power management portfolio, the DURAmax family integrates seamlessly with 24 VDC PRO ECO II, PRO MAX and PRO TOP power supplies, as well as DURA ECO battery modules. Together, these solutions provide a complete and coordinated power backup ecosystem designed to help keep critical automation systems operating.

The DURAmax DC UPS combines high cost efficiency with a space-saving design while offering temperature-compensated charging and an intuitive LED bar graph display for rapid status monitoring and fault diagnosis. The solution is also built for global cybersecurity compliance and EU CRA readiness. Its battery cold-start function enables battery-powered startup, while PUSH IN connection technology supports fast installation.

“Thanks to PUSH IN connection technology and clear terminal labelling, users can wire quickly, save time and improve productivity. The product’s architecture is designed to support compliance with the European Union’s Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) from day one, ensuring that our DURAmax DC UPS maximises the availability of automation systems by protecting against machine downtime and data loss,” said John Froustet, senior director, Product Portfolio Management at Weidmuller USA.
